Rosie is an Angel

If you know anything about Rosie, you are definitely thinking that this title is a mistake.  Rosie, my Sassy Dress Form is decked out for the holidays as an angel and it's mostly because I found this fabulous set of wings at an estate sale this year.

As soon as I saw them I knew what her Christmas look would be!  In these days of climbing Covid numbers, I had no desire to go out shopping for her outfit so I did the next best thing, I shopped my house!
A white t-shirt and some of those pretty slips from another estate sale gave her the perfect base.
The outfit was looking pretty plain and we all know Rosie will not stand for 'plain' so I dug out some lace panels, also found at an estate sale. After some wrapping, draping, pinning, and, of course adding the wings, I had a look that made me happy.
Rosie had a few thoughts.....Yes, she was outraged that she was dressed in curtain panels.  After reminding her there was a pandemic and I wasn't going shopping, she still wasn't pleased and proceeded to pout.  Now, I could have ordered something online, but we all know that I'm cheap, I mean, frugal, so, she was stuck with what she was wearing.

I tried a new approach and reminded her that Scarlett O'Hara wore a dress made from curtains in Gone With the Wind.  Rosie was not impressed......I guess I'll have to have her watch the movie!  Lol
I offered to get her a halo that was made from feathers and that seemed to perk her up a bit - Finally!
The outfit was complete!

I still hear a few grumblings when I pass by about curtains.  Maybe I should find her some cute shoes.  Rosie really likes shoes even though she doesn't have feet!

Rosie is dressed as an angel for Christmas, although I would swear there are little horns holding up that halo.....😈  I did mention she's a bit sassy, right?

Merry Christmas from Rosie!

    1. Thanks, Michelle. Now if I could just get her focused on the wings and not the lace panels! lol

    2. I thoroughly enjoyed reading this post :) ... so witty and humorous.
Just by looking at Rosie I can tell that she lost her head, probably, over the lace curtain dress. ;) Please do tell her that I think she looks very pretty in it and I love her wings.

Thanks for sharing this at our #HomeMattersParty and hope to see you again next week :)

    1. Thank you, Cindy and you're absolutely right. Being sassy, especially at this time of the year, may not work in her favor. Haha!!

  3. Ha! I love it...and I think the curtains look great. She is a sweet and sassy Christmas angel. You know, years ago, in middle school or high school, I dress up as Bo Peep for Halloween. It was all make it yourself costumes back then, so I took the layered, ruffled, organza skirt off my vanity, pinned it together and wore it. I guess we're both "use what you got" gals!

    1. I can actually see you dressed as Bo Peep! I was involved in musicals all through high school and I remember making many costumes. Yes, we are 'use what you have gals' - especially in the middle of a pandemic!

  5. Loved this post! Thanks for making me laugh for the first time today. Rosie looks great and I think it's ok for her to have horns and wings both. I'm pretty sure we all do in one way or another.

  7. Rosie should be reminded that she's not naked in this cold weather! She's adorable. I think a strand of improbable pearls would make her even more content! I made my daughter a dressup dress from lace curtain cutoffs when she was little for her dressup box. I expected her to think of herself as a bride, fairy, whatever. She came waltzing into the room I was in, proudly pirouetting, stating, "Look, mama, I'm curtains!" So much for my ego!

    1. You read my mind - I almost added some pearls! Your story reminds me of when my daughter was little. I bought a wedding gown at a garage sale for $10, washed it and cut it down for her. She lived in that dress! Thank you so much for stopping by, Kathy.
