  Yes, it's that time of year again.  Yard Sale and Estate Sale season is upon us and, if you're like me, you can't wait to start searching for treasures!  In my area many towns have a 'Community Wide' yard sale where you can spend the better part of the day shopping.  That is why I've collated this list of items that every Yard-Saler (that's a word, right?) should have at their fingertips.     Here's my list: Money.   That's right, cold, hard cash.  No checks (does anyone use those anymore?), PayPay, or Venmo. Unless you're shopping for something big, keep the bills small - singles, 5's, 10's and don't forget the quarters either.  You can still pick up smalls for a quarter or 50¢!   T he people running the sales have change, but they don't want to give it all up first thing in the morning, so don't hand them a twenty dollar bill for a one dollar item at 9am.   Plan ahead.  Go to the bank beforehand and break you...

  Everywhere you look in blogland, it's Spring and has been since Valentine's Day.  Of course, in my part of the world, we had a snowstorm a few weeks ago - HA!....but it IS getting warmer! Let me share a few Spring projects. There has been a lot of family medical 'stuff' to deal with and to be honest, it's been rough.  That being said, I'll be taking a few weeks off from the blog to take care of more important things.  To all of you I wish you a Happy Spring/Happy Easter and I'll see you soon! 

 Featured on Home BNC - #24  - Be sure to check it out! Did you know you could turn a Witch Hat into a carrot for Spring?  I'm here to show you how. Last Fall I bought an extra witch hat metal frame at the dollar store.  I'm sure you saw them there. I snipped the wire at the arrows, bent the brim parts down, and flipped the hat around. Can you see where this is going? I added some masking tape for reinforcement and placed the wire frame on the back of some fabric. The fabric was attached with hot glue. Trimmed... ....and the frame was turned over. Time to add the carrot top!  I found this 'spring bush' on sale for about $3. It was cut apart and the pieces were tucked into the wire frame on the back. A few dabs of hot glue were added to hold them in place. The last thing it needed was a bow, so, out came some burlap ribbon and a piece of the carrot fabric to dress it up. Attached and done! Can I call this an upcycle? Upcycle or not, next Fall when you see the wit...

I KNOW you've missed me and it's been FOREVER since I've shared anything with you!  Let's catch up, shall we? If you're new around here, allow me to introduce myself.  I'm Rosie , The Apple Street Cottage's Dress Form.  I've been called a 'Diva' and 'Sassy' although I don't know why.  I love to raid closets and find new outfits to put together.  A few of them have been 'interesting', but that's what happens when you let someone else do the closet shopping...not mentioning any names...... As you know, we moved several months ago.  The house was sold, an apartment was rented and I miss the sunny dining room at the house.  It's pretty dark in this part of the apartment and my 'photo shoot' was a Nightmare , to say the least!  My fingers are crossed that we move somewhere else when the lease is up.  That is, they'd BE crossed, if I had hands.   Sigh!  It's not easy being me..... Anyway, everyone keeps talki...
