Denim Cuff Bracelets

I spent last week deep-cleaning my craft room. That was an adventure! Now (almost) everything is organized and I know what I have in all the boxes and containers. Denim is one of the things I have in abundance, so it's time to get started on some new projects. First up? Denim Cuff Bracelets.
Welcome to the Creative Craft Hop hosted by Sara from Birdz of a Feather. If you just came from Jenna at The Painted Apron, welcome to the Cottage! At the bottom of this post I'll direct you to the next stop on this hop, but be sure to visit all of the other stops too for some amazing inspiration. They will all be listed.
I found some old jeans that had these great cuffs and decided to start with them. Here's one:
So far, so good!
Velcro was sewn on either end so this bracelet would be easy to put on and take off.
And it was done...
...Or so I thought. It was a little 'plain' so I found a little bling to dress it up!
But, I wasn't done. Two legs mean two cuffs!
For the second one, I decided to have a button and loop closure. I grabbed an elastic hair tie and cut it in half.
After sliding it inside the cuff, it was stitched
Next, I measured and cut a strip of floral fabric 1/2" wide and 12" long with one edge frayed and basted along the un-frayed edge.
It was gathered and stitched into a circle/flower.
A button was stitched into the middle, attaching it and the flower to the cuff. A single button was stitched on either side.
Cuff #2 was now complete.
Two easy denim projects!
Remember, this is a blog hop so it's time to visit Allyson at Southern Sunflowers. Once you've stopped by to see her, be sure to visit all of the others for more inspiration! Here's the list:

These are both so pretty Ann but I especially love the bling on the first one. I just recently found an almost exact lace at my mom's house as we were cleaning out so that's now in my craft studio. I'm due for a deep clean too and can't wait to try this!
ReplyDeleteI guess you'll be sharing some lace project then? Cleaning out the craft room was the best. Two large bags of stuff went in the trash, some others were gifted, and everything is organized. Now I'm ready to get started on a few projects that have been waiting for me!
DeleteAnn, these are so pretty and the lace and accents you used are perfect!
ReplyDeleteThank you, Cecilia.
DeleteAnn, this is a great idea. I love to accessorize with jewelry so this would be so cute. Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Terrie. They were fun to make!
DeleteThese are so pretty Ann! So cute and creative! What a great way to use up bits and pieces in your craft stash~ you should make a ton of these and sell them at a craft fair!
ReplyDeleteJenna
Thank you, Jenna. I think if I had to make a ton of them, I'd get bored and wouldn't be fun anymore! If you know anyone who wants one, though, send them my way!
DeleteYour denim cuff bracelets are so adorable, Ann! I believe you've created the next big trend! While they are certainly great for anyone to wear, imagine all the teeny boppers wearing these with their jeans attire! So cool!
ReplyDeleteThe ladies in my Fiber-Arts group said the same thing! lol
Deletewow, so cute and pretty. I am sure our teen granddaughter will love it.

DeleteAnn, they are darling! My daughter made a denim rings years ago and it's still one of her favorites. I think maybe she needs a bracelet to match!!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Kim. I'm pretty pleased with the final result. Denim rings? I'll have to investigate those!
DeleteFab idea! My granddaughter old love this project
ReplyDeleteThank you. I hope you'll share it with her!
DeleteHow cute! #YourMoment
ReplyDeleteThank you!
DeleteWhat a darling idea. And a great way to reuse jeans and bits of lace or ribbon. I love that you’ve customized each bracelet.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Carol.

ReplyDeleteThank you. It sounds like you're all set!
DeleteThese cuffs are so pretty! I have some old denim that would work well for this project.
ReplyDeleteI see a project in your future!
DeleteYou were very creative on making your bracelets! That lace looks absolutely perfect with the denim and I'm loving the bling embellishment. I like the whimsical button one, too ~ love me some buttons.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Allyson. I can't decide which one I like better!
DeleteAnn, these are so cute! Being a short gal, I always have cuffs that are left over from my pants. I always wanted to do something with them, but I never thought of bracelets! How clever, and even though I do not sew, I think I can do this one. Thank you for sharing with Whimsy Home Wednesday!
ReplyDeleteI 'get by' when it comes to sewing...you can do it!
DeleteThese denim cuffs are so pretty! Love how they can be customized in SO many ways!
ReplyDeleteVery true. I have a few more ideas!
DeleteI love making cuffs too!
ReplyDeleteThey ARE fun, aren't they?
DeleteThese cuff bracelets are so sweet! I especially love the combination of denim and lace, and the way that you can swap out the pins to create a whole new look.
ReplyDeleteI'm so excited to feature these on this week's Whimsy Home Wednesday link party! Thank you so much for sharing with us!
Thank you so much for featuring them, Becky!
