Heart Box
This paper mache heart box has been sitting on the shelf for too long. Time to create something for Valentine's Day!
I grabbed some pretty paper napkins, Mod Podge, and a brush. Remember to separate the layers of the napkins so you're only using one layer. I had some leftover pieces that were perfect for this small box.
Starting with the lid, the Mod Podge was brushed on and the pieces of napkin placed down.
The top was covered with Mod Podge.
Another piece of napkin was applied.
The top edge and the edge inside the box were trimmed with a piece of sandpaper.
The box itself was covered in the same manner.
A second coat of Mod Podge was applied and I used some plastic wrap to smooth out any bubbles. For detailed instructions on decoupage with napkins, click HERE.
The box was almost done.
I had some pink trim that was glued around the edge of the lid.
Now it was done.
The perfect way to wrap a Valentine's Day gift!

DeleteThis is also a destash. Very pretty. Thanks for posting at Funtastic Friday. I used to teach that tip with the clear plastic wrap to smooth out the paper. It always works and it's always so surprising to people.
ReplyDeleteIt certainly is a destash - It's becoming a habit with a pandemic! I'm always surprised that more people don't know the plastic wrap trick too. It's a lifesaver!
