Meet Annie B

I'm sure you're thinking, awwww, she rescued a kitty!  Someone did, but not me.  It's a story, not a long one, but I think you'll like it.  Here we go.......
Last week was my birthday and I decided to do something a little different with facebook this year.  If you have an account, you know that when your birthday rolls around your friends are reminded so they can write 'Happy Birthday' on your timeline.  The day before my birthday I wrote this post:

Tomorrow is my birthday, but instead of writing 'Happy Birthday' on my timeline, I'm asking everyone to take the time to do something nice for someone else....hold a door, tell them they look nice today, give someone a smile. 😊 It doesn't have to cost anything at all, just do something that involves interacting with another person and, just maybe, making their day! 😁
It's time to counteract the hate and bigotry we keep hearing on a pretty constant basis......................So, go do it! Happy Birthday to me!

Some of my friends still wished me a happy birthday on my timeline, I'm hoping that most of them did what I asked, and a few let me know they fulfilled my wish....telling me they mentioned my name and what they did.
My favorite though, was this one.  My friend sent me this picture ( sorry, it's blurry) and told me she not only rescued this adorable kitten, but named her after me.  How sweet is that?  She is a dilute calico and I know she has the best home ever! As I look at the picture she sent me, all I can say is, 'Those Eyes!".

I'm so happy that one kitten found a new home because of my facebook post.  I'm also thrilled that several (or maybe many) people had a better day because someone did something nice for them.  We all need a little more of that, don't you think?
That's my story.
I hope you enjoyed it and feel free to share.
It's important to spread a little kindness.
Thanks for stopping by.......

  1. I just love this! As "mom" to six (6!) rescued cats, I hope your friend sees this post and also this comment: "I join Annie B in thanking you for giving this sweet kitty her forever home!" - and to Annie, I say "Happy Birthday, and what a lovely request for gifts in your name!"
I found you on "Mother 2 Mother."

  4. Annie B, that is beautiful! Much as I adore cats--and advocate rescue cats--I've never had a cat named after me! :D Quite an honor! And, yes, those eyes! #MakeItPrettyMonday
