Summertime on the Front Porch

It's summer at the Cottage and one of my favorite pastimes is to sit on the front porch enjoying the warm weather with a good book and a glass of iced tea.

Here's the chair that my husband painted white for me:
It needed a cushion, so I grabbed an old one and some bargain bin fabric and made one.  You may remember me doing this for the rocker on the side porch.  Check HERE.
I had some extra fabric, so I got out a travel pillow that was hiding in the closet and made a pillow, too!  Here's a close-up:
The porch tour wouldn't be complete without a peek at the flowers:
You may remember this upcycle from a few weeks ago.  If you missed it, check it out HERE.

Impatiens in a basket by the door.

Geraniums in the apple basket.

Morning Glories in hanging baskets.

The Summer Porch.

I'm in the middle of choosing colors for the front door and shutters. They both need scraping and painting desperately!  I'm thinking yellow for the door and dark blue for the shutters.  Let me know your thoughts...I'm open to suggestions!

Thanks for stopping by and have a wonderful week!
Ann

    2. Hi Ann I love your summer porch... it is the perfect spot to rock with a cool drink. Your flowers are so pretty!! I like your idea of a yellow door and blue shutters. I think those colors will really pop on the white exterior of your lovely cottage home.

  5. Visiting from Grandma Ideas ... I love front porch sitting too. The rocker is lovely and inviting. I'd have my tea/wine and a book also. Have you considered painting the door red and the shutters black? I love that look on a white house
