Fairy Light Pom Pom Wreath

Even though I don't start decorating for Christmas until Thanksgiving weekend, I certainly start preparing and crafting for it!  Let me show you an easy way to create a beautiful wreath for your home.

Here's what you'll need:
Welcome to the Creative Craft Hop hosted by Sara from Birdz of a Feather.  If you just came from Jenna @ The Painted Apron, welcome to the Cottage!  At the bottom of this post I'll direct you to the next stop on this hop, but be sure to visit all of the other stops too for some amazing inspiration. They will all be listed.

Let's make a wreath!

Start by making your pom poms.

For this wreath, I made the following in blue:  8 small, 8 medium, 5 large, and 4 extra-large pom poms.
In white, I made:  6 small, 4 medium, 4 large, and 3 extra-large pom poms.
Be sure to leave the long strings on - that's how you'll attach them.
I found my wreath form at the dollar store.  If you can't find one there, here's a great alternative.

I started by arranging the blue pom poms.
Once I liked the arrangement, they were tied to the wreath form and the process was repeated with the white ones.

The base of the wreath was done!
Next came the lights.  This string of 10 lights worked perfectly.

I tied the battery pack to the back...

and ran the lights around the wreath...
poking the lights through in various spots.

It was time to embellish!

I used some small bottle brush trees that I had and the first thing I did was pull off the wood bases.

Then some wire was attached to each one.  The wire wasn't labeled, but it's probably about 20 gauge.
All the trees wrapped and ready to be attached to the wreath.
Each tree was placed with the wire fed between pom poms and attached to the base.
All the trees attached.
Ready for display!

Now, wasn't that easy?

Remember, this is a blog hop so it's time to visit Sara @ Birdz of a Feather. Once you've stopped by to see her, be sure to visit all of the others for more inspiration!  Here's the list:
