Sparkle & Glam Christmas Tree

This project got it's start last Spring at an Estate Sale.  No one knew what they were, but I knew I could do something with them, especially that one that one with the arrow pointing to it.
To me, it said, 'Christmas Tree' and that's what it became.

Welcome back to the 'Do It Over' Designers blog hop. We are a group of bloggers who love to recycle/upcycle/DIY.  I'm happy to host this hop and I hope you'll visit everyone to see what they have to share with you.  Their links will be listed at the end of this post.

After some research, we came to the conclusion that I had purchased some wooden bobbins from an old textile mill.  You can guess the purpose of the giant staple (that was not coming out - no way, no how!)
Since I have quite a collection of vintage costume jewelry, I decided to go with a 'glam-look' for this makeover.  The first step was to give it a coat of silver spray paint.  I also included a few pieces of jewelry I was thinking of using that just weren't the right color.
The 'diamond' necklace I found a few weeks ago was attached first.
I used E6000 to attach it since it was a heavy piece of jewelry.
I added some sparkles around the bottom edge using jewel embellishing glue.
You can also see the string of pearls that was added to the base.
From there I started adding pieces of jewelry that I had sorted from the collection.
Single earrings and broken pins and bracelets...
...until I felt it had enough sparkle...
...like a Faberge' egg!
This was one of the easiest makeovers I've done in a while!

As for the other bobbins, I have plans for them.  I just don't know when I'll get to them...stay tuned!

As I said earlier, this is a blog hop and my friends have some amazing ideas to share with you.  You don't want to miss a thing so all of their links are listed below.  Be sure to stop by for a visit!
