Christmas Through the House

It's almost here and I finally got the house decorated for Christmas.  For whatever reason, it was a slow process this year, but it's done.  Here's a peek:
The stairs have been decorated with garland, gold ribbon, and these beautiful blue poinsettias that I found last year at Michael's:
There's no fireplace or mantle here, so my Lenox Santa sits poised on top of the china cabinet surrounded by garland, red and gold Christmas bulbs, and pinecones:
My grapevine wreaths have been decorated for the holidays:

This little paper house was made several years ago, but it still comes out every year.  The top comes off, so it's actually a box:
We call our tree the "Charlie Brown Christmas Tree".  We bought it several years ago for $20 at Walgreen's.  It looks so humble when it comes out of the box, but when the lights and ornaments are added it's beautiful.  This is not a themed tree.  It is not flocked.  It doesn't have a high tip count.  It is a collection of ornaments that tell stories.
Vacations we've gone on:
Places we've lived:
Ornaments made by a disabled neighbor when I was a child:
And so many more...

It isn't Christmas in our house without a poinsettia:
I will be back with my regular posts on January 5, 2019.  Wishing you and yours a most wonderful holiday season.  Until then, stop back this Tuesday for the Party In Your PJs link party.
Thank you for stopping by.  I appreciate each and every one of your visits.  Have a wonderful week!

  1. Aw, I just love a good Charlie Brown tree. Growing up my step father always went to pick out our tree while all us kids stayed home with my mom and he always felt sorry for the scrawny trees no one wanted... we often ended up with Charlie Brown trees but once they were decorated they looked wonderful.

  2. My little 4 foot white tree is sort of a Charlie Brown tree too; got it at a discount store for $19 because I so wanted a white tree but not the expense of one from big store. It's branches are a bit 'limp' and it is a bit sparse but you know what? I love that darn tree! Merry Christmas. Dawn Pinnataro aka GADawn57
