Little Celery Table...

...or is it a desk?  Either way I found it when my husband and I were running some errands last summer.  We drove by a house that was having a yard sale in the middle of the week.  I don't know about where you live, but most yard sales are on the weekend around here.  The little table/desk caught my eye, and yes, I made him turn the car around.  Long story short, the woman sold me the table for $5 simply because she wanted to get rid of it....Winning! It looked nothing like this when I found it.  Here's a peek: I loved the legs and the curve of the top.  What you can't see in the picture is the front skirt was loose and tipped making it impossible to slide the drawer.  We turned it over and found that the corner supports were not attached. Summer Ice Cream Cone - From a Witch Hat!

  I'm back with one last project created from a Dollar Tree witch hat frame.  You may remember the original Witch's Hat  and the Spring Carrot , but now it's Summer and that means Ice Cream!  This project started out just like the others, with a witch hat frame from the dollar store. I snipped the brim and folded it down to create the shape I needed. After reinforcing the edges with masking tape, I traced the shape/texture of the 'cone' with chalk and a ruler on some burlap. Then the lines were painted with craft paint. Since the chalk gives you a thicker line, the paint lines weren't 'exact'. after brushing off the chalk, the burlap was glued to the frame. I used three bunches of geraniums from the craft store to create the 'ice cream'. The leaves were removed and set aside for use in some future project. Wine Cork Wreath

Just a note...I promised to share the wreath and picture in a previous post.  Here they are: Now, if you're anything like me, you've been saving wine corks for forever because there is a fabulous project that you will just HAVE to make with them.  The problem is, you haven't found it yet! Have no fear, your project is here! To get started, you will need lots of these: How many, you ask?  I estimate that I used between 200 and 250 corks.  You will also need a straw wreath, like this: Don't forget to remove the plastic! This next step is extremely important! Wrap some wire around the wreath and make a loop for hanging.  There is nothing worse than getting your wreath all done and then say to yourself, "Hmmm, how the heck do I hang this thing!?! $15 Cabinet - First of Two!

Welcome back to the Cottage.  I hope you are all well and ready to hear another story about how I found two pieces of furniture.  A friend once told me I always have the craziest stories, but, hey, that's how I roll.  Are you ready??? Last Fall, at about 11:00 pm I was perusing one of the local garage sale sites when a post came up that said, "Two dressers $15 each." I immediately commented and messaged the woman to tell her I was interested and would like the measurements.  She answered right away telling me she would have to let me know in the morning since the two pieces were out in her barn.   I went to bed wondering if I'd hear from her at all, because people can be flakey on those garage sale sites.  But, sometimes, you have to have faith.
