Upcycled Tea Towel Becomes a Sweet Valentine Wreath

Image
I'm so glad you're back since I have the cutest Valentine's Day craft to share with you!  How are things in your neck of the woods?  It's been bitterly cold here this week so I've been staying inside and crafting my days away.    W elcome to the 'Do It Over' Designers blog hop.  We are a group of bloggers who love to recycle/upcycle/DIY.  I'm happy to host this hop and I hope you'll visit everyone to see what they have to share with you. The links will be listed at the end of this post. Do you have some old tea towels stashed in the bottom of a kitchen drawer?  You know the ones...they're at the point where they make good rags but you can still use them in a pinch?  Kind of like this: I've always used this towel when making jam.  The jars sat on it while they cooled, but, let's face it, it's seen better days.  Look at those edges! Let me show you what I did with this sad little towel.   This post may contain affiliate li...

Crushed Glass Valentine - No Resin!

I'm back with another crushed glass project for you. Remember the Crushed Glass Christmas Trees ?  I've been seeing several examples of crushed glass art and with Valentine's Day on the horizon, I decided to make a very special valentine using the same method.   Before we get started, let me welcome you to the  Creative Craft Hop  hosted by Sara from Birdz of a Feather .   If you just came from Donna @ Modern on Monticello ,   Welcome to the Cottage!  At the bottom of this post I'll direct you to the next stop on this hop, but be sure to visit all of the other stops for some amazing inspiration. They will all be listed. The best part of this project is that there is no resin required .  If you know anything about working with resin,  you know it's  a process .  It needs to be measured/mixed and protective gear (gloves and a respirator mask) is a must.   That being said, let me show you a much easier (and l...

Recycling the One Dollar Foot Stool

Hello again and Happy New Year!  I hope your holidays were happy and the new year brings you peace and joy.  We all need a little more of that, don't we? As many of you know I make it a habit to not look back as we begin a new year.   That being said, I must confess I DID take a tiny peek at my posts from last year. Why, you ask? To see what posts were loved the most, of course! So what were they? ..........  My recycle/upcycle posts.  If you search  ' recycle/upcycle' you'll find them.   You also were pretty enthusiastic about my This & That posts where I inevitably shared my estate/yard sale finds. For those 2 reason, let me share this sweet little footstool recycle and then share some treasures I found over the past couple of weeks. This post may contain affiliate links. It was late in the day last summer when I saw a yard sale sign and turned onto the street 'just to see what they had left'.  I spied this pretty little needlepoi...
